Clinical Applications
The pulsENDO treatment is primarily being explored for its applications in managing metabolic conditions, specifically type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and associated disorders. Based on the available evidence, clinical trials are investigating its use in the following areas:
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: The duodenal pulsENDO treatment is being studied as an early intervention for individuals with T2DM. A specific trial (NCT07376486) is prepared to commence, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of pulsENDO as a standalone treatment for early-stage diabetes management.
Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Another trial (NCT07660445) is currently recruiting participants to test the combination of Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) with duodenal pulsENDO. This study targets obese patients with T2DM, investigating whether this combination can enhance glucose control and facilitate weight loss more effectively than ESG alone.
Suboptimally Controlled Diabetes and Liver Disease: There is also a planned trial (NCT07390422) focused on patients with poorly controlled T2DM and steatotic liver disease. The goal is to determine if duodenal pulsENDO can improve glycemic control and liver health simultaneously.
While these trials are in preliminary stages, with some not yet recruiting, they reflect a keen interest in pulsENDO as a potential therapeutic strategy for metabolic conditions, particularly given the growing burden of T2DM and related health issues.
